At the University of Michigan, each registered student is assigned a UNIQNAME and PASSWORD which gives them access to the University's computing system.
Once you have access to the UofM computer system you will be able to look at your student information, including grades, online. Access to CTools is also based on your UNIQNAME.

To obtain your uniqname and password, please follow these instructions: http://www.engin.umich.edu/caen/accounts/uniqnames/ Even if you already have a uniqname, you should follow the procedures at the website to insure that all of your computing services are activated.

You will need the following information to obtain your uniqname and password:

1. OTID (one time ID) which was emailed to you 24 hours after being admitted to the University
2. You will be asked for your date of birth.
3. 8-digit UofM ID number which was emailed to you within 48 hours of submitting an application
